The day that launched a million blogs?
I'd guess that 9/11 was a prime impetus for why people wanted to blog, to share their thoughts about our mutual trauma. (Side point: Aren't there any newsgroups about blogging? I was surprised to do a search of my Webusenet newsgroups list to find none with "blog" anywhere in the name. Huh....)
I'll admit, this eliminates one of the main things I hated about trying to create a Web page, even with the simpler tools like Microsoft Publisher: The uploading process. Blech. I'm no techie, and it just proved frustrating to no end.
What if bloggers draw no bloggees?;-) Are they just talking to themselves? And... is that necessarily a bad thing?;-)
The Computing Fool
Random thoughts and ramblings from a guy born on 4/1 and who admits feeling like a fool at the keyboard lots of times (a day;-)

Hi there!
Welcome to my new, ever-so-humble little corner of cyber space. I spend enough hours on my "day (and night) job" with bend.com, where I write the news about Central Oregon, that the idea of spending MORE time at the keyboard is a little... well, crazy. But why not? (And of course, anything I do here is NOT affiliated in any way with bend.com or our new weekly paper, the Bend Bugle, blah blah legalese legalese;-)
So... this is a place to tell stories, anecdotes, thoughts that just never would fit into a story. Or to tell a different kind of story. I think.
We'll see! Any suggestions, send em my way.
